Drip trickle irrigation is a water-saving irrigation method that uses plastic pipes to deliver water to the root zone of crops through holes or drip heads on the hair tubes with a diameter of about 10mm.
It is currently an effective water-saving irrigation method in arid and water-deficient areas. drip trickle irrigation has a higher water-saving and yield-increasing effect compared to sprinkler irrigation. At the same time, it can be combined with fertilization to increase fertilizer efficiency by more than one time. It can be used for irrigating fruit trees, vegetables, cash crops and greenhouse cultivation, and can also be used for field crop irrigation in dry and water-deficient areas. Its shortcoming is that drip heads are prone to scaling and blockage, so strict filtering of the water source is necessary.
Drip trickle irrigation is a water delivery method that delivers water and nutrients drop by drop through a pipeline system and a water dispenser installed on the hair tube, according to the water requirements of crops, into the root zone soil of crops in a uniform and slow way.
Drip trickle irrigation does not damage the soil structure. The water, fertilizer, air and heat inside the soil are always in a good condition suitable for crop growth, with small evaporation loss and almost no surface runoff or deep leakage. Therefore, it is a water-saving irrigation method.
The main characteristic of drip trickle irrigation is that the water volume is small. The hourly flow rate of the water dispenser is 2-12 liters. Therefore, the irrigation time is relatively long, and the irrigation cycle is short, which can achieve small and frequent irrigation. It requires low working pressure, and can accurately control the water amount, reduce ineffective inter-plant evaporation, and avoid water waste. drip trickle irrigation can also be automated.
Ground fixed drip trickle irrigation system
The hair tube of this irrigation system is installed on the ground, and the hair tube and the water dispenser cannot move during irrigation. Nowadays, this type of drip trickle irrigation system is mostly used for orchards, greenhouses, a few field crops irrigation. The advantage of drip trickle irrigation system is convenient installation and maintenance. It is easy to check the soil moisture content and the flow rate changes of drippers.
Subsurface fixed drip trickle irrigation system
The hair tube and water dispenser (mostly dripper) are buried underground. Compared with the ground fixed system, this drip trickle irrigation system eliminates the work of installing and removing the hair tube after planting and harvesting crops, does not affect field cultivation, and extends the service life of the equipment.
Mobile drip trickle irrigation system
During irrigation, the hair tube and water dispenser are moved from one place to another. Compared with the fixed system, this drip trickle irrigation system improves the utilization rate of the equipment, reduces investment costs, and is often used for field crops and crops with less frequent irrigation. However, it is more difficult to operate and manage, and the operating costs are higher, making it suitable for dry and water-deficient areas with poor economic conditions. It can be divided into manual control, semi-automatic control, and fully automatic control according to the operation mode of the system.
