Comparison of PVC Flat Pipe and Irrigation PE Pipe

Comparison of Raw Materials

A PVC flat pipe is made from polyvinyl chloride resin, which is extruded into a plastic pipe. A PVC flat pipe is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and cost-effective. However, compared to an irrigation PE pipe, a PVC flat pipe has poor impact resistance and is prone to cracking, especially in low-temperature environments.

An irrigation PE pipe, on the other hand, is made from polyethylene resin and also extruded into a plastic pipe. An irrigation PE pipe has excellent flexibility, corrosion resistance, and impact resistance, performing especially well in low-temperature environments.

Comparison of Flexibility

An irrigation PE pipe has strong toughness but limited rigidity. A small-sized irrigation PE pipe can be coiled for delivery. The flexibility of an irrigation PE pipe reduces the risk of damage caused by the pressure from falling concrete, making it ideal for engineering applications but rarely used in residential pipelines.

A PVC flat pipe has poor toughness but high rigidity, ensuring straightness and good aesthetics. However, it is prone to brittleness during transportation and has a low expansion coefficient.

Comparison of Corrosion Resistance

A PVC flat pipe generally performs well in typical chemical environments but has poor resistance to certain organic solvents and oils.

An irrigation PE pipe has strong corrosion resistance, allowing it to withstand the erosion of many chemicals effectively.

Comparison of Application Range

A PVC flat pipe is mainly used for drainage, sewage, rainwater collection, cable protection, and construction engineering. Due to its low cost, a PVC flat pipe is widely used in municipal, residential buildings, and various engineering projects.

An irrigation PE pipe is primarily used for water supply, gas transmission, sewage, mining water, industrial water, farmland irrigation, cable protection, and other specialized fields. Due to its excellent corrosion and impact resistance, an irrigation PE pipe is commonly used in high-demand and special environments.
